MONITOR: La eficacia de la insulina y otros antidiabéticos puede ser disminuida por ciertos fármacos como los antipsicóticos atípicos, corticosteroides, diuréticos, estrógenos, la hormona liberadora de gonadotropina agonistas de la hormona de crecimiento humano, fenotiazinas, las progestinas, inhibidores de la proteasa, simpaticomiméticos aminas, las hormonas de la tiroides, L-asparaginasa, alpelisib, copanlisib, danazol, diazóxido, isoniazida, megestrol, omacetaxine, fenitoína, tagraxofusp, temsirolimus, así como farmacológicos dosis de ácido nicotínico y adrenocorticotrópica agentes. Estos fármacos pueden interferir con el control de glucosa en sangre debido a que puede causar hiperglucemia, intolerancia a la glucosa, la nueva aparición de diabetes mellitus y/o exacerbación de una diabetes preexistente.

ADMINISTRACIÓN: se recomienda Precaución cuando los fármacos que pueden interferir con el metabolismo de la glucosa se prescriben para los pacientes con diabetes. Estrecha monitorización clínica de control de la glucemia se recomienda tras el inicio o la suspensión de estos fármacos, y la dosis concomitante de agentes antidiabéticos ajustar según sea necesario. Los pacientes deben ser advertidos para que notifiquen a su médico si su glucosa en la sangre es constantemente alto o si experimentan síntomas de hiperglucemia grave, tales como sed excesiva y el aumento en el volumen o la frecuencia de la micción. Del mismo modo, los pacientes deben ser observados para la hipoglucemia cuando estos fármacos son retirados de su régimen terapéutico.
